WHAT IS A PTO?
A PTO chooses to focus their efforts on selected school. We choose to benefit Cedar Ridge Elementary School in Eden Prairie, MN.
Our Cedar Ridge Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is also a non-profit 501(c)(3) legal entity with tax-exempt status. This means that the government recognized our PTO (by giving us 501(c)(3) status) as an organization that provides valuable community services that would be impossible for the government to provide using taxpayer funds.
WHO IS THE PTO/COMMUNITY?
The PTO Board is responsible for making strategic and financial decisions for the non-profit 501(c)(3) legal entity, according to it's constitution or articles of incorporation and bylaws.
PTO members are ALL parents, teachers and friends of the selected school who assist with activities, functions and services that fall under the PTO's mission.
We ask YOU to volunteer time (even just 1 hour per year), plan events and raise funds to make educational opportunities and items available to Cedar Ridge and our students that are not otherwise funded by our school district.
WHY HAVE A PTO?
A PTO fosters a community atmosphere in support of its beneficiary while providing valuable items and experiences for the school.
